Valkyria Chronicles 2 was released a little over a week ago in Japan and with it new info about what may be expected from its downloadable content. There are four different types of DLC: Playstation 3, PSN, Phantasy Star Portable 2, and Sega's Valkyria Chronicles 2 blog.
The first method is accessible via the Playstation 3. Playstation 3 with save data from the original Valkyria Chronicles will be able to transfer its save data to a PSP memory card. By doing so will be able to make use of Isara, younger sister of Welkin from the original game.
The second type of content will be accessible from the PSN. As of right now a total of eight downloadable missions are planned by the end of February in Japan. Three missions were available for free when the game launched with the remaining five running 100 yen each when released.
The third option requires save data from Phantasy Star Portable 2. A PSP memory stick with saved data will allow the Phantasy Star Portable 2's main heroine Emilia to appears as a usable guest character. Additionally, two special missons will be available for download from the PSN, but a Phantasy Star Portable 2 save file is required on the PSP memory stick.
The final method is via Sega's Valkyria Chronicles 2 blog. Each week the blog will update with new codes that will allow gamers to download new stickers for their tanks and additional playable characters such as Maximilian, Sylveria, and Faldio Landzaat.
At this time it is unknown if the the North America and European version of Valkyria Chronciles 2 will see any of this content, but at least it gives some idea as to what can be expected. Valkyria Chronicles 2 is due to release this summer.
