During Nintendo President Satoru Iwata's keynote talk for GDC 2009, he revealed a new Zelda game for the Nintendo DS titled The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Instead of sailing, this time Link's quest will have him riding a steam locomotive all over Hyrule. Spirit Tracks will also feature the style and controls of Phantom Hourglass.

There looks to be new weapons included to assist Link as he ventures around the world. It was also shown that he now has the ability to control a shadow guard in combat as well. Few other details were revealed at this time, but Iwata stated that Spirit Tracks would be available in 2009.
