Today, XSeed Games announced its upcoming lineup for the rest of 2007. The first game on its list is one that has already been announced, that title being Valhalla Knights, for the PlayStation Portable, which is scheduled out on April 17. Two new titles were announced for Sony's handheld: Taito's Dungeon Maker: Hunting Ground and Sony's own title, based on an anime of the same name, Brave Story: New Traveler. The last title revealed today was Wild ARMs 5 for the PlayStation 2.
Dungeon Maker: Hunting Ground stars a young dungeon maker whom has moved to a town that has problems with violent monster attacks. After purchasing a large plot of land outside the city limits, it's up to players to build a massive dungeon to lure these monsters. At first, townsfolk are skeptical about this architect, but as time moves on they do their best to help the player out. The more attractive the dungeon, the rarer the monsters and the better the loot. This title has yet to be rated by the ESRB, though it's scheduled to release during the month of July.
Brave Story: New Traveler stars a nameless 11-year-old boy and his friend Miki enjoying a little rest and relaxation, when suddenly Miki falls into a coma. Feeling distraught about not having a way to help his friend, the boy hears a voice offer him a solution: "Beyond the door you can change your destiny!" It's at this time the boy heads off to the land of OZ to meet the wizard.... actually, he heads off to the land of Vision to have a single wish granted by the Goddess of Fortune. During his travels across the land, the boy makes many fruends and faces many travels, all in hopes of saving his friend. This title has yet to be rated by the ESRB and is scheduled for release at some point during the third quarter of 2007.
Wild ARMs 5 was created by Sony to celebrate the series' 10-year anniversary. This title uses many features from past games in the series, including the HEX battle system from Wild ARMs 4. The game opens in the small town of Capo Bronco, where two of the game's protagonists, Dean and Rebecca, witness a giant golem arm fall from the sky. Even more amazing to them is that when they locate the arm, a mysterious young girl is found clenched in its hand. All she remembers is that her name is Avril, sparking Dean and Rebecca to begin a journey to try and help her regain her memories. One thing that they don't know is that this fateful encounter is actually setting in motion the events that will see these heroes deciding the fate of mankind. This title has not been rated by the ESRB and will be released during the third quarter of 2007.
