Square has announced that Unlimited SaGa, the latest entry in its popular SaGa series, will be released in North America. The game is tentatively scheduled for release sometime this summer for the PlayStation 2.
Unlimited SaGa takes a unique approach to the series it was born of, as well as the role-playing genre itself. The game features an innovative battle system wherein players control their characters through a strategic slot-reel system. The graphics have been touted as one-of-a-kind, in that they are neither fully 2D or 3D. The title's development was led by series veteran Akitoshi Kawazu, and has been received fairly well by Japanese gamers, who have had the game since December.
RPGamer will continue to cover Unlimited SaGa as it moves into the localization process and as more solid details arise. Check out our game coverage for more information.
