Sony has announced tentative release dates for five games for the spring, two being, not surprisingly, RPGs. These dates are noted to be tentative, and considering the track record of video game release dates, Sony may be smart to expect delays. While these dates may be pushed back, at least this adds two RPGs coming to North America in the next 6 months or so. These release dates span from April to June, and include two anxiously awaited RPGs: Wild ARMs 2, the sequel to Wild ARMs, of course, and Legend of Dragoon, the game anxiously awaited by RPG fans.
Wild ARMs 2 has been set for a date of May 2, 2000. Legend of Dragoon has been set for a date of June 13, 2000.
On an interesting side note, SCEA now estimates that there is a Playstation in approximately one in every four homes in the U.S. This approaches the ratio of one in three homes approximately reached by the original NES, and shows that the popularity of the gaming business is not waning by any means.
