This is a toned down version of one of my favorite battle themes, inspired by the first round of TGA 2009. It doesn't have the same intensity and fire, but it keeps with it an air of defiance. I also grabbed the opening music to the game, made a triple-time variation, and included it in the remix just before the reprise of the main theme I used. I found the piano segments of the opening theme to be simply wonderful for transitions. The simplicity of the said fragments also allowed sufficient room to play around with.

Composed for piano and cello using Sibelius 5 and rendered by Kouen using SONAR 7 Producer Edition.

Welcome to another update of Sound Test. This update shall be very brief, as I am incredibly busy. I'm in the last two weeks of my OB-GYN rotation, and as I am a "senior" rotator, I also get decked with gynecologic oncology and gestational trophoblastic disease patients. I'm actually post-duty, but instead of going home, I'm stuck in the hospital waiting for a cancer patient who said she'd arrive this morning. I swear, if she arrives past noon, she won't even be able to start chemo- and radiotherapy!

Anyway, the submission today was conceptualized some time ago, during the first round of "The Grand Audition 2009," but was finished much later. This is bound to make staff member Nyx very happy, as the cello and the piano are her favorite instruments. Go ahead and give it a try. I hope that it tickles your fancy. Comments and suggestions are very much welcome.

Well, then, have a great weekend, guys! As for me, I shall eagerly await the Final Fantasy XIII original soundtrack. Take care!
