Fermat's Last Theorem: This was a very nice remix. The opening techno-string sequence was simply magnificent. The time signature was shifted to the more friendly 4/4, making it much easier to listen to than the original. I noticed how you shifted the downbeat from the third note of the main theme at 0:43-1:15 to the first note at 1:43-2:05 and thought it was an interesting choice. I did, however, get confused with the rhythm and timing at around 2:19-2:39. The utilization of pre-recorded in-game sounds is laudable, particularly the sword-drawing sample, which is quite similar to, but easily discernible from, the recurring brisk, high-pitched string glissando. The one at 2:21 sounded oddly misplaced, though, not because of the timing, but because of the softness of the other instruments at that point. I'm not a big fan of the "Vorpal Sword" sample or the slowed-down ending sequence, but these can be easily dismissed in the grander view of things. This is easily one of the best mixes I've heard in a while and I give the artist a pat on the back for a job well done.
Macstorm: Wow, first off I was impressed by the use of a Final Fantasy XI theme, because I feel that game's OST gets too little love. The techno style started off leaving me wondering when the theme would actually begin, but when it did, it was a great remix. The unique techno sound made this theme seem like something that could have actually been found in a game.
Ish: No comments.
