Author's Comments

From Secret of Mana's final boss theme (mana beast). This is definitely not a new song from me, as it was written 3 years ago, but I can't think of another song of mine that I like from an RPG.

Oh yeah, if you haven't heard of me (and this would not be unusual), I write NES music mostly, so this song was also written for the NES.

enjoy! I don't know if this is the sort of thing you'd want on your site. If not, at least you got to hear it.

I'm tardy yet again and I apologize profusely to those who eagerly awaited an update from Sound Test. This update was supposed to have been posted on the eighth—just in time for the opening of the Olympics. Anyway, the battles still rage on in the Bird's Nest, so I suppose the title is still apt. It also applies to my ongoing struggle to triumph over the uphill climb that is also called the Department of Medicine. The paperwork mingled with the co-management of really tough cases is just plain unreal.

This week, we have another Secret of Mana remix, this time by a new contributor named Tadd Nuznov. He has stated that he likes that 8-bit vibe going on in his pieces—something rather rare in this column as of late, but is, otherwise, completely welcome. I'm sure that listening to the piece will stir the spirits of those who fell in love with the NES all those years ago. Relish the vigor and energy each note of the battle theme brings!

I'm afraid I'll have to cut this one short. I've had very little rest over the past two days and I'm very, very tired. I don't have breaks on weekends, but I hope yours will give you a boost for the coming week, folks! Rest up and take care!
