Two Sets of Disgaea Character Face Icons, one set with a
border, one set without. These are "Multi Icons" Meaning each Icon
file actually has 4 icons of varying size in it for maximum clarity
when changing Icons sizes. The sizes contained are 16 by 16, 32 by 32,
48 by 48, and 64 by 64.
Tools Used: First I used Irfan View to batch resize all the images at
the varying sizes I would be using. Then for the bordered versions I
used it to batch crop on pixel of of the right and bottom.
Then, working in subsets of matching sizes, I loaded up all the Icons
of a given size in The Gimp 2.2 using Open as layer. Then I made the
border and transparent shadows on a new top layer. I then saved as
PNG, hid the layer, saved as PNG, hid the layer, saved as PNG, etc for
all 60 for each size. (I hit Save As and typed in the file name 240
times, not counting the fact that I screwed up the 64 by 64 sub set
once and had to resave all of them, bringing the total to 300.)
Finally, I drag and dropped all the files into Icon Sushi, and had
them all named such that the various sizes of each character would be
grouped together, eg, Disgaea 01 16, Disgaea 01 32, etc. I did use
Renamer a couple times during this project to get all the names just
right for this phase. Anyhow, inside Icon Sushi I selected the groups
of 4 and exported as multi Icon. This put the 4 sizes into one Icon
file. Then finally I used renamer to Rename all the Icon files as I
saw fit.
For the non bordered versions, which were completed first, I used the
same process, but using the uncropped image and sans the step
involving The Gimp.
