Hiya,
Welcome to the third update of the Information Station. I'll stop counting soon, really. As for the title, it comes partially because the holidays are here, and partially from the WTO up here in Seattle. For those that live in a cave, the WTO stands for World Trade Organization, and they aren't the problem. The problem is the tens of thousands of people who decide to skip work to get in my way so they can make fools of themselves on national TV. I'm not going to say if I'm for or against the WTO, but protesters just annoy me.
Today's Update:
Enough bitterness, today's update comes only a day late. Considering I spent all weekend in a condo in the middle of nowhere with no net access, I'll give myself a small pat on the back. I notice a lot of people who mail me didn't notice this section at the very bottom of the page right away. Therefore, tell all your friends, espcially if they write FAQs. This is for all you guys, so make sure it stays popular.
Thanks to everyone who submitted an idea for the panels on the right. Those that wanted links for sites that I (and other staff) visit will have to wait for the staff bios pages, coming out next year, no really, we mean it this time. Listing current games seems to be the trend the rest of the staff set, and I play lots of games, so why not follow along, right? :>
Submission Guidelines:
- Format: Text or HTML only. If you use Word or other word processors, I may not have your exact version, or it may reformat it in ways you don't want. Play it safe, and Save as Text when you save the final draft.
- Encoding Attachements: MIME. If you BinHex it, I can't read it. If I can't read it, there's not much chance of posting it, is there? If you UUEncode your document, there may be a delay for posting it, simply because I have to decode it.
- Required Information: Title, Name, Email. Try to be more creative than "Game Walkthrough" or "FAQ". Unique titles make your FAQ stand out from others. Name and Email are pretty straight forward. If you want to use an alias, that's your call.
- Updates: With so many files coming in, knowing which are new, and which are updates is really helpful. If you are sending an update, please tell me. If you could also give the current file name, that would be even more helpful.
By following these simple guidelines, you help streamline updates, therefore I can add more files per update. If you don't follow them, then the submission will be deleted, and a request for a compliant submission may be sent. Thank you for understanding.
Closing thoughts:
Turkey Day. If you think you had a hectic weekend, I had to split my days off between two families. I feel like an appetizer. "Just a little of me for everyone." I'm really into the Pokémon trading card game now, since that's all I could play in the before mentioned condo. If you're also into it, get Fossil. It has some really neat Pokémon, including the three legendary birds.
