Gloomy Night

By Whit Mattson

His raven hair waved in the wind

The same that carried him once before

It howled as ferally and was as cold

As the fateful day long ago

>From the splendor that was once Zeal

To a misrable, misty day

And a creature who showed the twisted way

Since then his cruelness grew

Till it consumed him through and through

Mindless revenge

Meaningless hate

He felt empty now

As the incantation ended

That he missed a better life

And he longed for the sister he once had

His only companion the wind

But the pleasant memories

The happy thoughts

faded to spite

As those who intruded

Broke the silence of the gloomy night.
