Lionheart

LionHeart is possibly the biggest PC RPG sleeper hit of the year. The game, being published by Interplay and developed by Reflexive Entertainment, is a massive RPG in vein of other Interplay hits such as Baldur's Gate and Fallout.

So what’s the deal with LionHeart? What makes it different from the others? Well, imagine that you’re in late 16th Century Europe, during the third Crusade to be exact. Seem normal? Well, this is where history diverges a bit. In 1588, a long-sealed passage between worlds was open and magic was released upon the world. This of course changes the face of the world forever and alters history as we know it.

Now, I know what some of you are thinking. "Are they ripping off Final Fantasy VI?" There are no original ideas, just original twists. What would Final Fantasy VI be like as a PC game? However, the similarities between the two don't go much further as Lionheart entertains a much more realistic world theme, not to mention the elements similar to Fallout which make the game much less linear and much more adaptable.

While not all of the ideas are original, if any, the combination of these ideas is so unique that the many RPGamers will hopefully be curious enough to check out this title, especially fans of Fallout or Final Fantasy VI. Luckily the PC requirements are not high, so pretty much everyone should be able to enjoy this title.

Lionheart is currently slated to be released sometime this Winter.
