Neocron

It's an first-person shooter! No, it's an RPG! No! It's a first-person shooter RPG. Neocron is a game that pushes the bounds of several genres, mixing first person shooter elements with RPG elements, and, uniquely enough, massively-multiplayer online abilities. It is this blend of styles that earns Neocron the next spot on our list.

Following World War III, only three cities remain thriving, and Neocron is one of them. As a MMORPG, Neocron gives you the option of pursuing whatever course of action you might wish, whether that be a lowly disgusting theif, or a be a nice Mr. Rogers-style neighbour, or even harbor destruction as one of a number of other types of characters. Everything is up to you (and everyone else, of course).

Neocron represents a change in the style of MMORPGs, and could easily bring a fresh new audience grabbed from the shooter genre into the RPG universe. RPGamer can find this new take on the genre in stores this October.
