Icewind Dale 2

Icewind Dale was an insanely popular RPG based on Dungeons and Dragons. It is no wonder to RPGamers of console or PC fare, then, that Icewind Dale 2 would be near the top of our list. Of course, that it would be on the top wasn't so obvious -- Icewind Dale 2 won by three votes.

Icenwind Dale 2 marks the entrance of several key new features not seen in its predecessor. For many, the inclusion of 3rd Edition D&D rules is one of the most awaited features. For others the new classes, races, spells, sounds, art, monsters, items and landscapes will make it a highly sought after sequel. The improvements are across the board also including further gameplay balancing and updates to the "Infinity Engine." Sadly, this will also be the last title to use BioWare's long-lauded RPG engine.

The voting was close between Icewind Dale 2 and Divine Divinity, but Icewind Dale 2, with its massive numbers of additions, enhancements and improvements pulled out ahead to claim the title as the most anticipated PC RPG of the Rest of 2002
