Legaia 2: Duel Saga

Legaia 2: Duel Saga

Lang was an orphan found by the residents of a remote village who raised him to be one of their own. However, a great eclipse came over the world's sun and threatened all life, forcing Lang to discover his destiny with the help of a few companions. Legaia 2: Duel Saga features the same innovative battle system of its predecessor for the PlayStation and adds a few things to it; most noteably more combat abilities and summon spells. Boasting a fully 3D world, a unique combat system, and a plethora of mini-games, the title will appeal to both novice and veteran RPGamers.

Legion: Legend of Excalibur

Legion: Legend of Excalibur

Join Arthur and the Knights of The Round Table as they battle the forces of the evil sorceress Morgan LeFay. Made by Seven Studios and published by Midway Home Entertainment, Legion: Legend of Excalibur is an action/adventure RPG in which RPGamers can control a party of up to four companions battling through thirteen missions. During the course of the game, Arthur meets his companions as they uncover legendary artifacts and prepare for the final showdown with Morgan. Also included with the game area few cinematic extras detailing the making of the game and facts behind the actual Arthurian legends.

Suikoden 3

Suikoden 3

From Konami, the legend of the 108 stars of destiny continues with Suikoden 3. Featuring three unique heroes, Geddoe, a mysterious mercenary commander, Chris, the silver maiden and leader of the knights of Zexen, and Hugo the son of the chief of the Karaya Clan. The player takes on the viewpoints of all three characters, and a few others, throughout the vast war epic, as the characters are dragged deep into the dark plot of the Grassland Wars. With characters from both of the previous Suikodens, and the ability to upload data from Suikoden 2, Suikoden 3 is like playing the end of a 150+ hour epic. Konami moved away from the previous games in graphic style, choosing Suikoden 3's graphics to be in gorgeous 3-d, instead of the traditional detailed 2-d of the previous games. Gripping music, characters, and play mechanics makes Suikoden 3 an intense game, and should keep fans of the series pleased.

Summoner 2

Summoner 2

A queen finds her destiny and journeys to fight evil and become a goddess in Summoner 2, a sequel of one the PlayStation 2's first RPG titles. The game takes place 30 years after the original title and is set in the other side of the world as well. The regal Maia must gain the aid of up to seven companions and use her powers to save her people. When Maia uses her powers, she actually becomes a beast, and this is one of several changes that were made to the game's battle system. The graphics have also been upgraded to make the most of the console's hardware, and it looks to be a welcome addition for fans of the series.

Wild ARMs 3

Wild ARMs 3

The second sequel to one of the best loved RPGs on the original PlayStation continues the tradition of Western themed adventure set in a dying world. This time around, however, Wild Arms 3 uses that trendy graphical style known as cell-shading. Though the game may look different, it plays like it always has: classic turn-based battles where gunfire alternates with magic spells. The game also offers many sub-quests to keep players occupied. Those used to the modern-day razz-matazz may find this game a bit dull, but old time fans of the series and of the genre in general will be more than satisfied. Besides, the characters run around a lot in battle!
