PC RPGamers usually don't have to worry about not having enough titles to pick from, and 2002 was certainly no exception. Of special importance is the growing number of MMORPGs.

Anarchy Online: Notum Wars
The PC MMORPG Anarchy Online has gained considerable attention from RPGamers, and now has its first booster pack: Anarchy Online: Notum Wars. Notum Wars encourages team play, and has the unique feature of land control. With this, player-created "organizations" may control pre-selected areas of the Anarchy Online world and obtain considerable gameplay bonuses to all members. Because of the value of these lands, fierce competition between the organizations is expected, and this is expected to bring a new dimension of gameplay to Anarchy Online. |

One of the most highly acclaimed MMORPGs of 2001 was re-released in last June. Anarchy Online Special Edition comes in a new retail box and contains a few additions. These include a bonus CD that contains soundtrack samples and a PDF copy of the novel Anarchy Online: Prophet Without Honor, as well as character guides and tutorials for new gamers. One month of free service is included as an incentive for RPGamers to try battling in the ruthless world of Rubi-Ka. |

Archangel
What happens to people after they die? As a favorite subject of discussion for many people, Fishtank Interactive brought another European release to North American shores that explores this same subject: Archangel. RPGamers will play as Michael Travinsky, the victim of a horrible car accident. Nevertheless, he is still alive, and transported to another world where he will be subjected to a visceral series of trials. The main character has a large array of weapons at his disposal, and character skill selection directly effects interaction with all NPC's in the game. |
