Welcome

Ohohoho. I'm really in for it. (Lorelai surveys the crowd, armed with torches and pitchforks, cursing her for missing an update...again) I guess October wasn't meant to be my month. Last Saturday my roommate and I rushed our friend whom you all know as "nigel" to Kaiser Hospital, and I didn't see true daylight again until Tuesday night...er, Wednesday. So I apologize for against missing an update...but I hope you all understand the emergency of the situation. For the record, Nigel is now doing fine and recuperating at mi apaato ^_^ please wish him well!
a Random Cookie from Lorelai

I suddenly realized last night that I have bitten off way more cookie than I can chew. Not only do I work with RPGamer and Art Corner, I have to deal with school and work (as a - you guessed it - web designer) and recently it has caused me a lot of stress and strain. You'll notice that this week's update is very small...That's because the rest of it is being done by a kind volunteer, Kouryuu-san. ^_^ Because I don't think it's fair for the RPG public to miss a fanart update each time life slaps me in the face, I'd like to call for RPG Fanart Assistants. If you think you're really up to curating fanart in the event that I'm disabled...e-mail me and convince me. Let me tell you right now though: it's a hard job. I need quick turnaround time, dedication, responsibility and of course...an artistic eye. ^_^
A Cookie for your Thoughts

The Art Corner" Everyone who is interested in the development and growth of the RPGamer Fanart Gallery spinoff, "The Art Corner" will be happy to know that I've instated a messageboard on the site! Granted, it's the ONLY thing on the site that's functioning...but it's being put to good use as we speak! Go take a look! Now I'm sure you're all wondering if the Art Corner will start draining the time I spend here. My answer is both (1) no, and (2) it's irrelevant. First off TAC is not an art GALLERY...but this is. I consider RPGamer's Art Gallery and The Art Corner to be sorta "sisters" (maybe even &wuot;spinoff" like that new Angel series from Buffy The Vampire Slayer) and I intend on updating them in just the same way.
Ask Lore: Like always, I'm opening up my Lifestream e-mail to personal questions, whether it be related to RPGamer, my other jobs, my goals, nigel, my school, or my pet dog Bobby. Anything that's not inappropriate or too private. Go ahead, Ask Lore. ^_^ I usually answer by e-mail nowadays instead of posting my answer on this site, but you can still get to know me!
Art on IRC: come to esper.net and join #artcorner, the official channel for The Art Corner! I just registered it, so I welcome you to join. If you're a staffer (aka a critiquer) please be sure to drop by, I need to op you in the channel ^_^;;;
A Word on Today's Fanart: This is less than half of what I intend to share. ^_^ Kouryuu's got the rest, and as soon as she gets me the HTML up it goes, mid-week.

Yuffie Kisaragi from Final Fantasy VII
" Simple Girl "
Artwork by Andrill
Comments: Yuffie is by far my favorite female character of
FFVII, so I just decided to portray her, since I haven't seen any portrays
of that cool and, in my opinion, the most lightening character in FF
series. I first drew her with pencil, and then added a bit of colour
in Photoshop.

Cid Highwind of Final Fantasy VII
" @#$%! "
Artwork by Gab
Comments: Cid is my fave character from FF7 because he's so
freakin' grumpy and stuff. The guy's always complaining..this pic doesn't
really reflect that, but it represents him well anyways (IMO). I like
the way I did it, sorta SD with crazy coloring. And yes, the color is
outside the lines on purpose! :)

Selphie of Final Fantasy VIII
" Selphie "
Artwork by Kellilla
Comments: Drawn during Photography class when I should have
been developing negatives, coloured in Photoshop 5 ^^ I just really
like the image of Selphie wearing Irvine's hat ^_^ And it's about time
I drew another character besides Quistis ^^;;

Squall and Quistis of Final Fantasy VIII
" Teacher's Pet "
Artwork by Meriko
Comments: FFVIII's Squall Leonheart and Quistis Trepe Fanart
Comments: This is an ink & color pencil of a top student and his former-top-student
instructor. And let me just say, I love the partial border I did...but
I think my eyesight dropped ten points while drawing it. I
adore Quistis! She's so feminine yet kicks butt with the best of them.
I think I have a weakness for characters with cool exteriors and hidden
hearts. (Yup, I love Squall already) I know Rinoa's supposed to be the
heroine, but in my opinion, she's much too immature and wimpy. I find
her even more annoying than Selphie. (gasp from the multitudes)

Vierge of Xenogears
" Vierge: The Pink Gear Personified"
Artwork by K. Teel
Comments: Since Vierge is such an elegant, girly-looking Gear,
I always wondered what it would look like in a human form. Erk... too
much pink. x_x

Claude and Rena of Star Ocean 2
" Heroes...Cute Heroes "
Artwork by Wulfmune
Comments: star ocean is my newest game of choice. i love the
characters and designs of this game and tried to capture some of it's
cuteness! the usual markers and adobe photoshop touch ups. [Here we
have] the hero claude and heroine rena. i love these two designs, especially
rena's costume, it's very cute. thats why i had to do full body pics.
