The Worst Game Of All Time
Hello dear readers and welcome to this brand new edition of Fan Art! I'm waiting for grades for 3 of my classes and the waiting is not fun at all. Still, I'm happy to have a few submissions to show as well as the return of the comics. This week I've been playing a little bit of Final Fantasy IV DS, leveling up while saving and rendering my stuff, because rendering can take some time. I have heard it would have taken a few hundred years had they tried to render a movie like Wall-E on one computer alone! Anyway, I still barely have time for games right now, so that's about it. Featured this week is TomR's awesome Final Fantasy VIII piece. I have to admit, I like his art style a lot and he's been defining and perfecting it with every submission for a while now. Anyway, this latest jewel portrays Squall and Quistis in a dramatic-looking scene. Have a look at the texture in the painting and the lighting. My main complaint here would be that Quistis' face looks a bit weird, as if it could be a man without the hair. The overall piece is, otherwise, perfect. RPGamer's Phillip Willis, reviewer, has sent a second submission not so long ago. Adell's Mom features Adell's Mom who's apparently nameless. I like how the artist inked the drawing; the lines are smooth and varied. The shadows are simplistic, but they work well and most importantly, they work with the background's shadows. Good work and please send more! Disgaea gets more love this week with Dead Fishie's latest submission. What I like here is the coloring. The colors are thick and vibrant. Most pieces made with the same medium tend to be pale so this one brings something interesting, especially since 'Late' Fishie mixed the two styles together, and it makes the drawing much richer with added contrast. The overall piece would benefit from some more light colors or a background, be it a scene or just a color or gradient. This is it for this week. You lucky readers get to read two comic pages this week. This time, Locke, Terra and Edgar destroy a Magitek Armor. Make sure to read the second page to see Cecil's priceless expression and caption. Thank you for reading, and please remember to send in fan art. Just as a reminder, Fan Art can be a drawing, the photography of a sculpture (though you can send them to me - I just won't send them back!), a costume, an animation, and even wallpapers! Don't be afraid to show your work! See you next week!
