Make Believe
Hello dearest readers. Let's pretend last week never happened so no update was missed. I have made some progress in Contact and Earthbound, but most importantly, in my first animation contract. I should be done by the end of September, which is actually one month later than I previously expected. School is starting this week and I know I'll be terribly busy, so I don't expect games to progress at all for the next month. Thankfully, I have nothing interesting and new to play either way. Featured this week is Tsim Hawj's Kingdom Hearts picture. It is fabulously colored and shaded. Something with the soft lighting and composition makes this piece soothing. There is a good amount of detail and obviously, the artist masters his technique very well. I like the frame inside the composition, but there's something weird with the bottom part. Maybe the legs could have continued some more. Second in line is another Dragon Force submission by Wein. This one is quite interesting, although the characters feel a bit confined in the composition. Contrast is fine, although some lines could be thicker, especially the outline in some places. The next submission was sent by Clovis15 and stars Recker and Psyme from Sigma Star Saga. It is very colorful and cartoony. This obviously depicts a scene from the game, and I must say, not having played it, this game has some weird costumes. RPGamer's superstar Michael Baker sent in this awesome Earthbound drawing he made recently. It features the whole party along with the camera dude and other hidden characters. Try to find them! My one complaint with this piece would be that Ness and Poo look much older than they are in the game. I'd love to see it colored, though! Last one for the week is from Golden Sun's sequel and was submitted by Shigeru. I'd say the highlight here is the cliff's textures. I'd be curious to see how it would look like with blue instead of dark brown for the shadows in the cliff. Very interesting submission. Please send more! This is all we have for this week. Of course, there is also the traditional comic. This time, Kefka eats dust... literally! Talking about the comic, I have updated the archive, and the numbers have been corrected, so the numbering is constant with Orinocou's. I'll be starting school tomorrow, so I don't how I'll handle my duties here, but I'll try to find time. I know I've always been very constant with my updates, but please don't be surprised if I'm late from time to time in the near future!
