Keeping Things Straight
Hello dear readers! Yes, once again the column is late. I've picked up Contact once again and managed to make some progress, so I don't hate it anymore. I still don't have a lot of time to play anything, so that sums up what I have played recently. With school starting soon, my gaming time will probably suffer a lot, but I'm just thankful to be done working full time at the café. Featured today is JW's colorful and dynamic submission, portraying Rose from Legend of Dragoon. There is a lot of implied movement in this picture. First, the blurred elements in the foreground look like they are passing by very fast, as if the character was falling. The character's pose is also very dynamic. The dim lighting and dark colors set the mood for this great submission! The next one is a piece by Jackson Ferrell, crossing Chrono Trigger's Marle and Disgaea's archer character. I have never played Disgaea or seen its characters, but I can easily understand what parts belong to the archer. This is a very interesting piece, and I wouldn't mind seeing more like that in the future. Very interesting interpretation! The third submission features Lance from Blade Dancer licking a skull. This picture is quite interesting and humorous, and I like the character's outfit. The colors are great, and the background looks good although it doesn't steal the spotlight. Next two pictures are from Dragon Force and drawn by Wein. These hand-drawn submissions are well executed; the lines are clean and crisp, especially Sanice. On the other hand, I like the almost sketchy style used in Teiris. That is it for this week! Please enjoy the comic, as Figaro starts to escape through the desert while the castle's inhabitants work together to seal the castle under the sand. Please be back next week, and make sure to send in your artwork!
