First Anniversary
Yes! It's been a long time. A very long time, actually, since I last updated the marvelous realm of Fan Art. I was actually preparing something quite special for this first anniversary of my very first column here at RPGamer. No, actually, I wasn't. I'm just so busy right now it doesn't make any sense. I've been given new duties at work, I signed an animation contract (my first, actually, and I'm pretty happy!) and life in general makes sure my days are as busy as possible. Anyway, I haven't played a whole lot of games recently. Mostly Black Sigil which I like a lot. I'm not done with it, yet I might go back to Knights in the Nightmare before continuing with it. Now, please have a look at this week's amazing art! So yoakeDAX has been contributing a lot recently and this latest submission is epic and deserves its position at the top of this week's update. The dynamic angle, the perspective and the interaction between the characters are all successful. True, Marle looks a bit stiff, but Crono, Ayla and the Giga Gaia are all in full action. The sky can be confused with the monster at first sight because of the similar colors, but it's not important. This monster is interesting, though, mainly because of his lack of limbs, and I think it could have been even crazier, but it is still an awesome piece. Mister Farrell likes prinnies and doesn't fear to show it. I think the crayon aesthetic matches pretty well with a picture featuring prinnies drinking box wine. I think this one is mostly about the humor, and the disposition of the different elements proves it. A radio, the box wine, and three prinnies on a couch. You do not need more than that to understand, but you wouldn't want less. Tina Olah makes a come back this week with a Pikachu pin up. Now this is a rather strange picture, but let's see what's in there! I know nothing about Chobits, so I don't know how far away from the original idea (read the artist comments) this piece has strayed. One thing is sure, we recognize Pikachu elements everywhere: the tail, ears, cheeks, color and lightning-themed background! Another one we haven't seen for a while, Maeva is coming back with a Kingdom Hearts piece featuring all of Organization XIII eating ice cream. The characters are fun to look at, as they all show different emotions. The one on the left reminds me of Mikel Tidwell. Falyne Varger has a new submission this week. This one is actually a remake. If I understood correctly, this was a kind of challenge that had artists remake an old picture of theirs, to see how much they have progressed as artists. Well, I guess everyone will agree that Falyne has made a lot of progress. Good job! Well that is it for this week! The comic continues with Edgar, Locke and Terra escaping Figaro Castle. Watch out, because the third page contains some foul language. As for the updates, I hope they start becoming more regular with the next week's. I will work toward that goal. Thank you for your readership!
