Hello readers! I'm happy to be able to bring a column this week, although it unfortunately doesn't mean internet is back at my place. This week I have played a bit of Knights in the Nightmare, but when Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled showed itself in my mailbox (thanks guys :)) I switched games and I'm really happy to be able to play it at last. I'm already a dozen hours in the game, and if I can belive what the team told me, it's about a quarter of the total game done. The game has its share of problems and bugs, though, so it's not perfect. I haven't encountered many bugs - it crashed once - but I heard they are quite numerous. I have opened a Staff Review Blog so you can follow my crazy adventure, and if we are lucky, the other staffers will also tell their tale and probably give you a different point of view. Well, enough about the game, let's now get into the art for this week. I'm very pleased by the quantity and quality of the submissions this week. Please enjoy them! Featured this week is a Noreen Rana piece with lovely colors. They are bright and the palette looks good; no color is useless or out of place. The pose is cute and the overall drawing is quite simple, which is all right, since the picture is all about the character anyway. Hokuten Knight sends in a rather dark piece, but I think it should be expected from a Castlevania submission. The shiny tattoos, without stealing the spotlight, stand out pretty well. The third submission this week stars characters from Persona as they are taking a picture of themselves. The picture is quite detailed, and I like the idea of the blocky background. Instead of having just white or black behind them, having just a few colors or shapes is fine, especially in a composition like this one where a complex background wouldn't work so well. I really like Jackson's latest submission. Pen drawings can get confusing, just like any monochrome picture, really, but this one works quite well. That prinny just scares me, though. Link has come to town, and it is a new interpretation of the Hyrulian hero by Boum. On her Deviant Art page she says she messed up the hand with the sword. I agree that something looks fishy there, but the rest makes up for it. That's it for this week! Thank you so much for the submissions, and please send more for next week! Fan Art is now up to date with the Final Fantasy VI comic, so don't expect as many pages each week, and maybe some weeks without the comic. If you know of an rpg-based webcomic, please let me know, and we'll see if it can be featured in here. Thank you once again, and please come back next week for another update!
