Final Fantasy XIII
Comics Corner
Blue versus Pink
Hello dear readers! Welcome to the smallest update ever since I'm in charge! This is catastrophic! Actually, no, it isn't. I've got several other pictures, but they are (almost) all from the same artists. Also I'm quite in a hurry today, so next week will be bigger! I've progressed a bit in my Final Fantasy VI game, and I just got the tintinabar from the wounded soldier. Interesting? Not as much as looking at fan art! Under the spotlight this week is Sandy's second entry in her L'Cie series, Snow Villiers. Either he's sleepwalking, or he's in a terrible shape. Just like Sandy's previous drawing, this one has some floaty feeling going on. I love the line work, although at some places it looks a bit hesitant. The outfit's details are clear and well done, but the overall piece would benefit from having more shadows, or any other kind of contrast. I can see a hint of light on the pants and coat, but don't hesitate to use darker and lighter colors. The worst that can happen is having to touch-up or start again. Boum is back with more fan art. She told me she'd be producing a lot of them, so expect more on the way pretty soon. This piece features Id from Xenogears. I haven't played that game, but this guy has serious eyebrows. A portrait, this piece has great contrast and dynamism. The lines in the hair do a great job of conducting the action toward the center, leading your eye through the mass of wavy, candy hair, to the pale face, and ultimately, to the thick eyebrows. I like the mouth a lot. Simple, yet so expressive. That's it that's all everyone! Don't forget to read the comics. I wonder if some people still forget about them. Actually, has anyone ever forgotten to read them? I mean, every week I stress to you not to forget about them, yet they are just under the other submissions. This week, Locke meets with Terra. He has some Chrono Trigger moment with a girl and her pendant and decides to treasure-hunt it. Tune in next week for more action-packed Comics Corner! Also next week: an easy way to go back to the first comic and read your way to the present!
