The new design for this page is finally done, but I want to spend some time caressing it lovingly before unleashing it upon the world. Rest assured that this time next week, your eyes will refuse to blink lest they break their gaze with the most pulchritudinous of web designs ever to have graced the internets with its presence. Indeed, most of you will be wholly unprepared for the magnitude of awesomeness with which the new layout will assail your senses. Unfortunately, nearly all of the features in this layout are so advanced that no web browser on the planet will support them until 2043, so you'll all have to live with something roughly one-third as cool.
This Week. To honor the retirement of the current layout, we present another superb bunch of fan arts. Things have been Final Fantasy-heavy lately, but we have a scant two such submissions this week--one by Andromeda depicting a sinister Sephiroth and another by Dark Val featuring everyone's favorite materia-stealing tomboy. The one thing we have had no lack of lately is Xenosaga pieces starring Jr./Rubedo (not that I'm complaining!), and this week we have a double dose. The first beautiful piece comes courtesy of Agnes, while the second is by KateZivi and throws in a bonus Albedo and Gaignun. We have our first Tales of Symphonia work in a little while--a lovely Sheena by Shigeru. And speaking of lovely, there are few RPG characters lovelier than the title character of the Sakura Taisen series, and Gee does an amazing job of capturing Sakura's incredible beauty. Fans of the classics will love HokutenKnight's voluptuous Katt from Breath of Fire 2 and Jackson Ferrell's terrific Chrono Trigger battle scene. Kayleen submits a gorgeous Balmung of the Azure Sky from .hack, and RPGamer's own Michael "CactuarJoe" Beckett will make La Pucelle Tactics fanboys squeal with delight over his piece entitled "Prier is Not a Cuddly Lady."
Recent Changes and Additions. Just a quick reminder about all of the other changes around here in the last few weeks. To start, the fan art gallery archive has been overhauled and now features thumbnails and a much more elegant layout. Fan Art is also now accepting submissions of Fanimation and Cosplay Costumes, so check out the updated Submission Guidelines for more details.
Keep those submissions rolling in! And OmniArtists, that October 10th deadline is fast approaching, though I know most of you will be working your fingers to the bone until the last possible minute. Anyone else who wants to try the Quarter-Final challenge for fun is more than welcome, and we'll save some room just for you in the gallery.
Oh, and if this week's update title has you scratching your head, go check out my recent editorial on five RPGs the world needs. Now.
