I finally had the common sense to leave our current residence and move us a little closer to my day job, so we've been cleaning things out and packing things up. Even with a 35-MPG MINI Cooper, gas goes quickly when your drive is a two-hour, 35-mile drive from Baltimore to Rockville, Maryland. I'll be a ten-minute walk from my workplace now. Oh, if anyone is thinking about moving to the Rockville area and is looking to rent a room, we've got an extra one at the place we're moving into and we'd be glad to hook you up with the special RPGamer reader discount. Just drop me an e-mail to the address listed on my staff listing page.
This Week. Our army of artists have some particularly incredible art for your viewing pleasure this week, starting with HokutenKnight's super-sexy Celes for the boys and Matt Herms's awesome Vincent for the girls. doc's Zidane and Dagger piece will have everyone going "Awwwwww," while Koyangi's cool female ninja will have everyone going, "Hey, that's a cool female ninja." The Final Fantasy files close out this week with a rockin' Rikku from Suu. Sakura Orwin has a Riku of a different kind--a Halloween Town-style Riku from Kingdom Hearts. rchoe "Fliks" a great Suikoden 2 submission our way, and Staci/Nadia sends in an adorable but puzzled Katrine from Tales of Eternia. The march of the Rubedos continues with another great shot of everyone's favorite gun-slinging boy by Zero. Last and as far from least as humanly possible is a stunning Link from animetayl.
New Archives Are Up! The RPGamer Fan Art Gallery Archive has been revamped with a brand new design. The listings pages don't look too much different than before, but the real change is the layout of each game's and artist's gallery page. For example, check out the Xenogears and Final Fantasy 7 galleries. All galleries are now fully equipped with thumbnails and room for media type and comments. Of course, pretty much all of those fields will need to be filled in as we go through years of archives and put them in manually, but we'll get that done as quickly as possible. The rest of the new fan art design is almost done and will hopefully premiere in the next week or so.
And because they're important enough to repeat for a couple more weeks...
Attention, Fanimators! RPGamer's Fan Art section proudly announces that it now accepts RPG fanimation submissions! If you have a GIF or Flash animation (interactive Flash is great, too!), you can send it in and see it here. Check out the brand new Fanimation Submission Guidelines to learn how to send in your RPG fanimation pieces.
Attention Costumers and Cosplayers! RPGamer's Fan Art section proudly announces that it is the new home of RPG costumes! If you have created an RPG costume, you can send us a photograph and we'll post it here for all to see. It's a great way to show off your work, and if you're open to commissions, it'll also help put you in contact with potential customers. Check out the brand new Costume Submission Guidelines to find out how you can send in your RPG costume photographs.
Fan Art Submission Guidelines Revamped. While putting together the submission guidelines for fanimation and costumes, I went ahead and updated the guidelines for fan art. There's nothing really new or different from the previous guidelines you've all been following, but there were a few things that needed a bit of refreshing. You can view the revised guidelines on the Fan Art Submission Guidelines page. I'll also be revising the Fan Art FAQ soon, too.
The new design will be completed soon to accomodate the new additions to Fan Art. You can still send in your other RPG-themed creations (wallpaper, icons, etc.) to our Themes section. Questions, comments, and suggestions about the new additions are always welcome!
