The circle is now complete. The first six Final Fantasy games have now been remade at least once since their original release. So, you can't really tell me you didn't see this one coming. Can you? Final Fantasy IV DS is a remake of the classic Super Famicom title that has been coming for sometime, and in the odd case that you didn't play the original, there are a few surprises available.

"One thing that generated a lot of buzz with some fans is the use of voice actors, which was first revealed at TGS."

Aside from the fact that this is one of the last FF games to be remade or ported, there are a couple of extra features in the game. Obviously the graphics have been upgraded; the world map and other environments have been changed to a 3D perspective like the Final Fantasy III remake. Stylus use is also a recommended option for getting around, although it is thankfully not a requirement.

One thing that generated a lot of buzz with some fans is the use of voice actors, which was first revealed at TGS. I'm sure this will bring back some fond memories for people who remember the story well, and it is probably the most noticeable upgrade. Rumor has it that one of the game's main tracks will be vocalized by an as-yet undecided artist.

There's not much else to say, really. I like FF, and I especially liked Final Fantasy IV. But I still don't see myself buying the DS version, only for the fact that I've played the original, and from first glance it doesn't look like there is that much more here. If you are one of those from the post FF7-generation who for some odd reason haven't played through it, then by all means go for it, this is a game you shouldn't miss. However, there isn't much more to offer if you've played it already. Hopefully that will change, but so far I remain unconvinced.
