Sudeki - First Impressions
Sudeki

Sudeki was one of those games when I first looked at it, I thought of as merely as an eye candy game. As any well-versed RPGamer knows, graphics make not the game, but the gameplay. Fortunately, at this year's E3 we have our first look at a playable demo of the game.

Viewing still screens does no justice for Sudeki's graphics, one must see the game in motion to appreciate just how fantastic it looks. Framerates were quite silky throughout, even in the most hectic of battles. Casting spells or using special abilities initiated a special effects display of mammoth proportions.

Gameplay is still the most important factor, so does Sudeki kill two birds with one stone? The demo started with a little exposition, but I could not hear it over the rest of the noise being generated on the floor. The plot of the game is still up in the air at this point. However, the main focus of the demo was obviously a show of the battle system. Battle is in real time, and all fighting options can be selected on the fly. Especially intersting were the combo attacks that can be achieved by linking spells together with your allies.
