Impressions - Shining Soul

Sega's little Game Boy Advance Diablo-clone is finally coming to North America thanks to Atlus. With that out of the way, let's get to the game.

I only got to check out one character class, a warrior, but did spend a decent amount of time with the game. The game felt very much like Diablo and Phantasy Star Online with a town set up and dungeon crawls out in the world. Your character becomes more powerful by beating baddies and gets cool weapons along the way. Let's just say that there are no real new twists to the RPG genre in this one.

That being said, there is something evilly addicting about these games. You want to continue to power up your character, getting his skill areas higher and higher. I also look forward to trying out multiplayer at some point, as that is where games like this truly shine. Overall, it won't blow you away or show you anything new, but if you like those sorts of games, you'll enjoy this one as well.
