Look out,Ragnarok Online, Shining Lore has got everything you have, and
machine-gun wielding pandas too! Wandering around E3 is a huge thrill, and
it's easy to get distracted with the hundreds of giant displays everywhere,
but Shining Lore decided to be different, they hired a Southerner with a guitar
to sing the Shining Lore theme song, which hopefully, will never be heard
outside of E3, because it's amazingly disturbing. Shining Lore is already a
popular Korean MMORPG, and is being ported over to North America. From what I
saw of it, this is a good thing.
The battle system is simple to use, it's very easy to walk over to an
adorable enemy, slaughter it, and repeat with a simple click of the mouse. The
character models were not only cute, but also changed when you added clothes to
them, which meant that most of male players I saw had quietly removed their
female avatar's shirt. The game's heavy anime style works well, and while
the some graphics are a bit blocky, it did not detract from the experience at
all. Right now, I just wish NC Soft has been more open with the pricing plan of
Shining Lore, because it looks like a game I might just have to pick up, with
it's crazy characters and cheerful graphics.
