Disgaea: Hour of Darkness - First Impressions -
Disgaea: Hour of Darkness

I can't say I'm amazed, but I'm impressed nonetheless. The game has a bunch of fun new systems that no one has attempted before, and... they work! EXPLODING PENGUINS!? Throw them and they go boom!

The graphics aren't complex, but the sprites look tasty, plus the larger art that pops up during dialogue cutscenes is a great additionl. Too bad Americans usually don't get to see such good art style in their games.

All of the demo's spoken dialogue was in Japanese, so I can't tell if Atlus will please some of us with a Japanese dialogue-only or a dual voiceover. If it becomes dub only.... CHOCO NO LIKE! RAWR!

Update: Atlus has revealed to us that there WILL be a dual voiceover for the game, and you will be able to set the dialogue to Japanese or English depending on which you prefer. All praise Atlus for understanding gamer diversity.
