First things first, I enjoyed the game, and ended up playing it for
about two hours. I do not know if I will purchase it, but that will be
dependent on monthly fees.
The graphics were what can be expected from this sort of game, on par
with PS2 standards. The command system wasn't very intuitive, and it
took me a couple minutes to figure out how to do things, both on the
control pad and on the keyboard. The menus were relatively easy to use once
I found them, and were quite self-explanatory. I ended up playing a
paladin, as he was sitting there when I walked up. The character classes
seem quite standard, what one would expect from one of the earlier FF
games, but quite effective of course.
Gameplay was fun once I figured out what to do. I ran around with one
of the staff that was located in their office for a while, just killing
monsters in a hilly area. After a while of that, we headed to a town
for me to explore. Let me say, that town was HUGE. I only saw a part of
it, and that took me a while, what with seeing all the NPCs that
populated it and going into various shops. Next we headed to a glacier area
and found out that there was a large group gathering to defeat a Behemoth. After the three groups of 6 allied we became, in essence, a group of
18, and headed up to its lair. The thing was huge, and after an hour and
a half of doing enormous amounts of damage to it, the floor of E3
closed, and we had to leave. By that time, we had only taken approximately
1/10th its life.
