Exarch Impressions -
Exarch at E3

NCSoft proved to be my sleeper booth of the day, which started off early with a demo of the PC MMORPG Exarch. The initial surprise is that nearly everything in the demo used a point and click interface, even movement. Personally, I think using the WASD keys for movement would have been better, but given this is a PC game, customizing controls should not be a problem.

All that was accessible to play in the demo was a large battle in a forest, with some ancient ruins scattered about. A variety of weapons were available, from swords to shotguns, and I used melee weapons both times I sampled Exarch. To attack enemies, again, simply point and click on them. This, however, makes moving while setting up an attack rather difficult.

The game obviously isn't perfect, even it's beautiful graphics (some of the most beautiful I saw from an MMORPG) had framerate drops from time to time, but it is still in development, and is very much worth your attention once more information about how the game world will actually work develops.
