2000 Stats and Author List

In lieu of the release of the "2000 Q&A Stats Page" I figured I would produce the "Editorials 2000: Stats and Author List." Included below is a complete list of every editorial writer and the numbers of editorials they have written, along with a few little extras. First I would like to point out that there are a couple of sources of error here, the first of which being the case of duel identities. I took the liberty to assume that *very* similar names were indeed the same author. However, in the land of RPGs, pseudonyms and role-playing guises are often used, only to be changed later or even thrown away. So, I apologize if you actually wrote 40 editorials under 38 different names, thus making you the *true* editorial writing champion, but there was no way for me to really find out. Secondly, apparently, in and around the time of March 16, some editorials cannot be found in the archives. I distinctly remember reading a few that are nowhere to be found, nevermind one that I distinctly remember writing that isn't there, either. Again, I apologize if you had written 30 editorials posted on that update, therefore denying you of your crown and glory, but I am helpless in the situation. Anyway...... I'm Michael Harnest (Yay! Tied for fourth on the list!), and I have been visiting what is now RPGamer since the days of "The UnOfficial Squaresoft HomePage" and "Square.Net." I did all of this out of interest and in hopes to make some people feel special by reminding them of the writing machines that they are. I have also decided to give some mock awards, too. Realize, however, that editorials are meant to be enjoyed and discussed, and this is not to be seen as any form of competition; all of this is in good fun. Oh yeah, and if you feel like it, go tell Goog to let me guest host right......... now!

After reading all of your editorials all year I was continually surprised by the amount of creative and critical thinking you guys pour out. But after doing this list, I found some of you were most creative in selecting your name. Here's a couple that stuck out:

Name most inducing to go meet the bearer of it: "starry wishes kirby"

Name most indicative of social life: "Tifa Worshipper"

Name most in need of a name change: "The Blessed God of Death"

Name with most elegance: "Mistress Nightshadow" ..............*coughsuckupcough*

Quickest name change: "Bill Mosher," as creditted on one editorial posted January 26, changed his name to "William Mosher" by the end of the update for his second posted editorial.

A coupla more names that are just..... I dunno what they are: "Four Finger Wu" ; "Nyoro, Frog of Darkness" ; "macaroni" ; "Xerdo Pwerko" ; "moux cow petau"

Here are some other distinctions worth noting:

Most dominated update: There were a few updates where an author got 3 editorials posted, but none were so dominated as that on August 19 by Mistress Nightshadow and June 11 by Michael Harnest (me) where there were only two other editorials posted besides the three from the single author.

Least effective editorial: Apparently it was one of mine (not telling which). I got *four* rebuttals next update. I guess I didn't do much convincing..... even though I still think I'm right.

Largest update: Although not necessarily a good thing as it decreases the spotlight on the authors, Joshua Maciel takes the prize home with his 34 (!) editorial update on May 7.

Most effective editorial: The emotionally-charged "Dear Mother..." by Paws. Truly one worth reading, and one with a significant impact.

And now the biggo listo! Well, it was fun reading and writing all those editorials this year, let's write more in the new one! Geez.... looking below it seems Nightshadow has reminded us why she's the one runnin' the show now...... how do you write that much?

There were a total of 225 authors, with 365 editorials written. Yes... that's right...... 365! One written per day... on average of course, but quite the nifty stat, eh! Anyway, remember: it's not a competition! This is Michael Harnest signing out.... see ya!
