This week's title comes from one of my favourite Peanuts sketches, when Sally sits down to write Santa Claus a letter. This particular line always made me laugh because while I despise being called "Samantha" (Sorry, Ethos!), this particular quote is one my mother always loves to use on me because she knows how much it makes me smile. I suppose "Samantha" is a pretty name, but I've been Sam my entire life. But hearing Sally write to a "Samantha Claus"... it's hard not to laugh!
This is it guys - the last editorials column of the year. Why? Because I've decided, like last year, to take two weeks off to enjoy myself and not worry about my responsibilities here. It's also to give my wonderful boys (you three know who you are) who provide me with so much help and love a bit of a vacation too. I want to thank everyone who submitted editorials this year - you guys provided great insight and debate, and without you, this column wouldn't be able to keep afloat.
This week, Michael Cunningham and I end the year with a bang. Michael contemplates going "beyond full circle", while I look at my Q1 2010 woes. How many people aren't buying Final Fantasy XIII when it hits shelves in March? I know I won't be. I asked my boyfriend the same question and he said there was no place in his house for Final Fantasy XIII. Harsh, no? I think he and I will still be drooling enough over Bayonetta not to care about Final Fantasy XIII. To those who are excited for it, I hope it lives up to your expectations.
This is it, the end of the line! I hope everyone has a Happy/Merry [Insert Holiday Here], and I look forward to hearing your opinions in the coming new year. Also, go play Half-Minute Hero! It's AWESOME.
