Ok, this, I must admit, surprise me a lot. I seriously thought that editorial content would just slow down a LITTLE when it came to this. Apparently you've already finished your exams, don't have any, or you're writing editorials in front of any university or school work. Shouldn't you guys be studying about now? Not that I mind recieving submissions of course but...
I'm very sorry to all those people who wrote in last week who's eds didn't go up... with internal and external RPGamer business, along with negociations between my ISP and my ex-ISP, as well as Christmas shopping... AND a few other things, I was lucky to get this up five hours late. Sorry about that. For anyone's submission from two weeks ago that didn't end up going up this week, could I ask the authors to e-mail me so I can finally explain what's happening, if they're still interested in seeing their work up. Anyone else who's wondering why I've been very silent could also write back to me again, because chances are I missed it.
*Disclaimer: RPGamer does not endorse or condone skipping exams or redisributing study time to write editorials. Don't come asking me for sick notes when your lecturers ask you where you were.*
Disclaimers to cover me aside again, [Is it me, or do I always cause enough trouble to justify one of those?] we'll look at this weeks editorials... This time, we have an interesting look at an interesting viewpoint on character development ranging from how women are portrayed in Final Fantasy to how to truly become evil and somehow get away with it. As always, since one of the few things at editorials that we agree on is to disagree with just about everything, you'll see a fair share of people begging to differ on just about everything.
There's also some interesting requests concerning Final Fantasy as we know it, and thoughts concerning the fairly established lines of old school and new school RPGs. And with some Chrono Cross conspiracy theory [You notice how Chrono Cross seems to be in here every week?] and you've got the week in a nutshell.
For those interested the archives are still moving along slowly with the help of a few devoted, caring, and most importantly not very sane volunteers [Just kidding!] in helping me sort out these archives, although I let many out because of Finals and the Christmas period. Things will be a little slow until the new year particularly since recently I've been swamped with MORE obligations and duties [Internal and External RPGamer work boys and girls]... but I think we'll get somewhere. Just don't ask me when.
That sums up the 11th day before Christmas... If you forgotten, remember to have a shot at our 12 days of christmas, a little note taking could land you a spanking new copy of Grandia II, Shenmue, Breath of Fire 4 or Final Fantasy IX among other games... and speaking of which, I should be playing FFIX now. Well, have fun reading, writing, playing and enjoying your christmas! I hope I can bring in some pre-christmas reading for you to think over next week.
PS: Someone sent me an editorial which was an appendium to "Replies and short essays regarding mythical links between FF VII and VIII along with various other items" but apparently the mail got lost in my inbox. Could that someone please e-mail me back so I can put a name and e-mail address on it?
