Episode 2: Weapon of Choice / Dance Dance Pacifist Ver. 2.0
   by Tyler Morris
"I'm sure a wise craftsman once said, "A sword is only as good as the arm that wields it." Then again, almost every single anime sensei says the exact thing, or similar variations. With that in mind, almost anything could be said about a weapon and its wielder. Taken into the perspective outside of gaming, which would you choose? A gun, a sword? I'm sure a wiseguy once said, "Never bring a knife to a gun fight." He'd be right, of course. Although, he would be singing a different tune if he ever came face to face with a demon that reflected bullets."

Rinse & Re-use
   by Angie May
"Being a female in a Final Fantasy game has never been an easy job. You're constantly being kidnapped, experimented on, fought over, drooled over, and even being sacrificed. Not only that, but you are usually just a remake of a past heroine. Sad to say, if you're a female in a Final Fantasy title, more likely than not you're nothing more than a rinse and re-use paper plate."

Classic Editorial - January 1999

Yes, we do want Movie-like RPGs
   by Mike Lindberg
"Back when RPGs (or more specifically, Japanese RPGs) were first being made, developers did not have much choice in how they could present their story. It had to be short, concise, and to the point. Final Fantasy had an extremely shallow plot line compared with today's Xenogears. Was it because the developers were lazy? No, it was the limitation of the system."

Editor's Comments

Today we present you with three tasty editorials. Two members of our news team have graciously devoted a little extra to present us with their opinion. Tyler Morris has returned with the second article in his continuing series of six editorials. Angie May has submitted her first editorial since joining the staff. She has written about the recycled roles of females in the Final Fantasy series. Let's hope we hear more from these two in the near future! We also have a classic editorial by Mike Lindberg about a debate which still rages on all these years later.

We're at a hectic time of the year, what with all the Christmas-shopping and finals. Hopefully our readership finds a little bit of time to relax in the near future, and maybe even cooks up a few interesting articles. I look forward to your submissions in the coming weeks.

P.S. Sorry about the late update; we just didn't actually have anything to post until now :(
