Remake or Repackage?
by Diana Scott
"I mean, we've all been there; Mom threw out your old NES and Dragon Warrior I and eventually nostalgia took over. Before you knew it you found yourself at GameStop purchasing the Dragon Warrior I&II combo for GameBoy Color."
Fan Heart: Why We Love Fan Art
by Nick "kweee" Ferris
"But there is nothing I love more about fan art than the fan art community itself. These thousands of talented people, many of whom are also exceptional artists of other genres, make up one of the world's most passionate groups of artists. Many will never sell their fan art, and most will never even try. Instead, they work to better themselves and to show appreciation for the videogame artists and designers who have provided them with their inspiration."
The Sound of Battle
by Siddarta Jairam
"Many RPGamers these days judge the games they play on the battle system and the gameplay, but this is like listening to the brass alone. By fighting in a game you get a sense of what the characters must endure. This is a necessary component for you to feel how the characters are feeling and to understand why they do what they do."
Everyone to Their Own
by Stuart Hoggan
"The real sad thing is about Final Fantasy VII is that it's gargantual popularity has been it's gradual downfall over the years. Beloved fans have turned to sworn enemies after being frankly squeezed too tightly to bear hearing about it's greatness again."
Blackmailing is my Friend: A Guide to Overdone Scenarios
by Steve Przestrzelski
"Every RPG has that worn out scenario in the game when the heroes or villains will take something dearest to the other party for something else in return. These favors are usually returned with less-than-expected results, and possibly a whole other side-quest! The situation in blackmails is usually lose-lose, and the characters never seem to learn from their mistakes, and often repeatedly by the same offender."

Editor's Comments
So, we had Editorials hour this Wednesday. I'll admit, I kind of expected to be sitting there by myself, twiddling my thumbs while folks enjoyed their Thanksgiving vacation over coming in and writing some editorials. The pessimist in me and all had all these plans ready in case that happened. Silly pessimist. I should've known better with you guys around. The place was packed. We planned on an hour and a half and ended up partying there long past midnight, editorials flying left and right. It was a hoot. You guys are the best and I hope you guys bring as much fun to the table next editorials hour. I'm going to try and make it an every two weeks event, so the next one will be on Wednesday the 8th. Mark your calendars folks. I'll be sure to have an even longer list of topics for those of you who need help starting. If last week was any indication, we'll also have a bunch of really cool folks from the other rooms heading in to cheer us on.
But what about this week, you ask? Well, this week we got a full set for you guys. Five new editorials fresh off the presses. Diana gives a devoted tale of the need to demand proper tribute when reselling old games. Nick, our new fan art curator, touches a subject near and dear to his heart. Siddarta fires off another editorial touching on the importance of gameplay in a good RPG. Stuart comes to give an impassioned speech on the need to let things go. Finally, Steve wraps things up with his first editorial, a glance into the overusage of blackmail as a technique in RPGs.
Also, in future plans... I want this section to become a twice a week section. I think it has the potential to be such and I'm willing to put in the extra hours to make it so. I can't do it alone though, so I need your help folks. We've started a backlog, limiting to five editorials an update. As soon as this backlog hits twenty, I will move to updating Sundays and Wednesdays, giving you all that opinionated goodness twice a week! Help me out here folks and I'll keep making this section more exciting to join in on with each week.
Oh yeah, I got the archives mostly up to date to, for those of you who like to keep up on the old editorials that were posted while you were away.
