Opinions-A-Plenty

Perspectives with JD | October 25, 1999

First order of business is to apologize to you readers regarding the lack of updates. It has been a very hectic three weeks of school, life and of course games. I trust the schedule of odd-ball timed updates won't occur again. In any event, today's Perspectives update is one froth with Opinions-A-Plenty, yes it's a doozy. To make up for the lack of updates, you all get a triple update. Fun -- Fun -- Fun!

Once again the sheer domination of perspectives focused on Final Fantasy 8 and retorts bashing the Dreamcast of all things. Last update had a few opinions defending the Dreamcast, today however Sony Fanboys -- I mean -- fans, stepped up to the plate and attacked the Dreamcast. I will say this, some of it contained viable and ample sources of opinion, some however just sounded like complete and utter biased sentiments.

The other major focus of today's update, was surprisingly a huge movement of opposition from our former Editorial writers. In particular Roles of FF women and Square Trends got a healthy amount of rebuttals. Opinions abound, although so did some harsh words to the Editorial writers of the past. I guess it is the nature of the beast....Write an editorial and prepare for some differences of opinion. Enough idle chit chat though, jump into the most opinionated rpg talk you'll find anywhere. But before you go...a word of advice..Beware...some of these people don't play nice.

I'll spare you with a rant on how tired I am after this giant of an update and keep this brief. I think the next update's theme is pretty much set in stone don't you think? If that isn't your cup of tea and you want to strike out in a new topic of discussion? I'm plum out of breath so get your creative juices going and think of one yourselves.

Oh yeah, before I let you all go.(I forgot we haven't talked in a while) Since my last update I have just beaten Final Fantasy 8. All I have to say is What an ending. I highly suggest those of you who haven't bought or rented the game to do so, immediately, that means NOW. Also on one last game related note, the Dreamcast ROCKS! Sega NFL 2000 should get game of the Year. Yes, you heard me correctly. FF8 is a close second. On that note, till next time. Peace.
