Change for the Better? Sam "Nyx" Marchello

Editorial Excerpt:

"Graphics are the first thing we see when it comes to our first impressions of a new game. When we see a franchise that we know and love change its graphics, usually the next question that comes to mind is why?"

Strategy on the Battlefield Mike "JuMeSyn" Moehnke

Editorial Excerpt: "Instead of being able to kill everything, the player should be forced to use different tactics to achieve victory. Holding off the enemy for awhile, as a few Fire Emblem missions do, or seizing a certain piece of ground. There are other battlefield tactics that could be tried out in a tactical game, however, and their introduction might make for a very interesting time."

From the Editor's Desk

In an embarassing turn of events I've gone and made a total fool of myself! Firstly, I'd like to welcome Sam "Nyx" Marchello to the editorials section. She's our newest staff writer and I know she's going to do a great job here. I but such an emphasis on she because I have been consistently introducing her as a he in recent weeks. May this be a lesson to all you future currators, be sure of a submitter's gender before you post anything. That taken care of, it's been an uneventful week for me on the gaming front. My car was broken into on Friday, and unfortunately I had forgotten my wallet with all my credit/debit/social security cards in it, but that hardly counts as gaming news now does it? What really irks me is that my Edge card was in there too. I could have had credit on that thing and now some dirty thief could be buying video games with my money! Grr.

We have two news eds this week. Nyx brings us one concering the potential problems that can arise when a game changes it's visual style, and the price that gamers can pay if other elements of the game are sacrificed in the process. JuMeSyn returns again as well to discuss some of the flaws in tactical RPGs. Give them both an ear folks, because they're both worth your while. Any ways, I hope everyone has a good week free of assumption and thievery. I'm going to be a little more careful on my end to make sure that's the case! Oh, yeah, and submit if you have any ideas, you all know the drill!
