Where's the Van? September 12, 2005

Editor's Comments:Progress can be its own drawback. No, this isn't an old school/new school thing, this is something different; a reflection on the importance of... well, a couple things, really. Read on, you'll see what I mean.

Editor's Comments:A close look at a rather well-known recurring bad guy, whose games you all may have heard of once or twice. A very, very, very close look.

Editor's Comments:I think the title is sort of self-explanatory. I know we've all hit these things before, and they suck each and every time. Sing us your song, Snyder-man.

Editor's Comments:Let's all go to the lobby, let's all go to the lobby, let's all... er... sorry. Ahem. Anyhoo, the good Mr. Wittlif has a few things to say about what a game can do with a good cutscene. Brother, you had me at mentioning Half-Life.

Editor's Words

The van is not where they said it would be. I bet it's the new guy we brought on the team. They said he was cool, but he was not cool. It could've been the monkey, too. He taught himself to talk, I don't trust him.

We have an interesting selection of eds this go-round, some of them quite long. Misters Caudill and Wisdom have some meaty thinkpieces for us, the former on the villainous Ganon, the latter on a seemingly seldom-considered aspect of gaming and how it's sorely needed these days. I'd settle for blackjack and hookers. In fact, forget the blackjack. On the shorter end of the scale, we have a Mr. Wittlif and our own Chris Snyder, here to talk about RPGs and cutscenes, and unbeatable battles, not necessarily in that order. I mean, it depends on which order you read them in, if at all. I don't know, surprise me.

Folks, we've been going quite well these past few weeks, but it's not enough. Backlog's drying up, and I would *love* to have me a fresh stack of eds to sort through and put up here. C'mon, don't be shy! We're all about fun here! If you have an opinion, send it in, brother and/or sister! We're willing to listen, 'cause you might even be right. That's the fun of it, after all. Come now, don't make me beg. I will, too, if it comes to that. Believe me, I write fanfiction; I gave up dignity a long time ago XD

I kid, I kid. Seriously, though, let's see what you folks got. Start a new argument, dig up an old one, tell us how if you rewind a video of a speed run through Resident Evil 4 you'll get a message from Satan, it's all good.

One final order of business. Three of our contest winners still have not sent us their contest information. Folks, we need that if you want to see your prizes; check the results, and if you won, let us know ASAP. In conclusion, Heat is an awesome movie. I think all people of reason can agree to this.
