A Review of Reviews: A Reviewer's Perspective Jeremy Michael Gallen

Editorial Excerpt:

"Most "official" reviews from mainstream gaming sites like GameSpot and IGN tend to suffer from the problem of inflated review scores, and given that these sites and their reviews are "brought to you by" the hottest new gaming titles and their companies, one can only ascertain that the sponsorship money has something to do with inflated review scores."

Money, Money, Money Mike "JuMeSyn" Moehnke

Editorial Excerpt: "In almost every RPG enemies carry around large quantities of experience points and cash. Experience points I have no issue with whatsoever, as fighting and killing something grants a form of experience even in real life. But money?"

From the Editor's Desk

I almost have Final Fantasy Tactics beaten, but I am finding myself vexed by my Dragoon's seeming inability to land on their targets before they can move out of the way. Alas, what is a gamer to do? Oh well. Not much going on in my life this week. School is school, gaming is gaming and I'm still breathing so everything seems normal.

We have a whopper of an editorial this week from frequent fan review Jeremy Michael Gallen. He discusse the problems with review systems, including RPGamers. JuMeSyn also returns with a musing on money in RPGs, or rather, how monsters always seem to be carrying it for no discernable reason. Both are good reads and I hope you enjoy them. As always, please remember to spay and neuter... wait that's the Price is Right. My schtick is about you all writing in with those zany opinions rocking around your heads. You know the drill folks! Write, submit, make me a happy camper. Cheers!
