Editorials for September 3rd, 2000
Something Old, Something New!

I t's a good day today. No only have a few things changed in this section, but we get a visit from Mistress Nightshadow, one of the most active editorial writers in this section!  So while she talks now, I'm going to go upstairs and cool off. It's too hot!

Mistress Nightshadow:
Well, for starters, we'd better get to business. Now this should be the final layout of this page, rebuttals and all.  Nothing drastic, just a few things we'd like to see from you as a writer, and for those needing some ideas for writing a good editorial, be it your first time or you're currently out of steam, there's a tips section from someone who has written quite a few editorials. You should give yourselves a good read through them just to keep the rules in mind, if nothing else.

As well, for those who like HTML, you can find a copy of the new editorial template on the side link, so if you want to HTML your submission, get your copy over here!

You might notice something which is quite different... some of you guys might even recognise the piece if you happened to be around back then. For all those who always had a little writer's block, this could just be the hammer you're looking for to get your ideas flowing onto that paper. Well, Scarmiglion's going to pull out some editorials from the archives every so often... some which could bring some inspiration to those who want to write, but are short of a topic.

Since this is probably going to be a last draft of the pages, you better tell Scarmiglion about how you feel about the section before he gets too used to it! Any suggestions should be e-mailed to him.

Now, I'd like to add a few words myself... not strictly eds business, but Editorials neither the less. Well, since it's well into the second week [or more for some schools and universities] you guys should be more or less settled.

Could I implore you to write some eds? Especially any of those readers who are in Australia... unless you've got a job which requires a 24 hour 7 day approach for the whole holiday period which is the olympics, you have a HEAP of time on your hands. Is it too hard to ask of you guys in particular to consider writing something?

As for me then? Well, I'm rocking along to the main Olympic stadium and I'll be working along at the main press centre at Homebush Bay all day, every day for the next five weeks. Which means any of you guys who are coming down here can try look me up... but this also means that my time writing editorials will be cut to thinking about them during my lunch break [be it at 4am or 4pm] and I probably won't be around very much...

I'm sure you guys can certainly can do better than I can, can't you? Of course you guys can, what am I saying, this is the biggest editorials section on RPGs on the net.

Rob:
Wow. Well, I agree completely.  Since Mistress Nightshadow won't be around much for the next month or so, I really hope you all send in some darn good editorials. Read, write, and enjoy!  Until next time!
