The Perfect Hero Sam "Nyx" Marchello

Editorial Excerpt: "After having a conversation with a friend of mine on the subject of heroism in gaming, I started to ask myself the following question: what makes the perfect hero?"

Alternative Business Methods Mike "JuMeSyn" Moehnke

Editorial Excerpt: "The business model of video games would seem to be set. Companies develop a product, package it, and consumers buy it from whatever vendor is preferred. But the Economist has revealed to me something new, born of rampant continental Asian piracy making the standard model less effective than would be desired."

From the Editor's Desk

This week has been pretty uneventful. I've spent a lot of time working through Final Fantasy IV DS and have just about finished it. Inspired by some of my non-RPGamer work I've also spent some time playing Resident Evil 2; good old fashioned zombie fun! Some exciting news though, my family and I are heading down to Universal Studios for the weekend. Some time in the sun should be a nice change from the rainy weather Vermont has perpetually had this summer. Expect a more refreshed Stew next week!

On the editorial front this week we have some nice fan submissions. First time submitter Nyx gives us a nice discussion on RPG heroes. Its a nice introductory piece, and we can only hope he writes in many more times. HINT HINT HINT. Our second one is from Mike Moehnke. JuMeSyn writes about emerging distribution trends. Both are enlighteneing and interesting reads. Enjoy!
