Change. Change is good. This reminds me of a story about twins.. Milo and Otis. Wait. No it doesn't. Nevermind that I said that. (if you catch the reference, email me, maybe I'll stick your name in next week) Anyways, like I was saying, change is good. And change is something I've been bringing to this column since I started here and I honestly don't plan on stopping anytime soon. There will be yet more new stuff as the weeks roll by, lots of this stuff will be tried, and tossed if I don't like it, or if enough of you throw a fit, however it works.
I know what you all are thinking. "Where the hell have you been?" Well, I'm not going to tell you. Not this week, at least. If you're good, I might tell you next week. Until then, check out the new mini-poll, which basically .. well .. says, "Where the hell has Brad been?" I'm not looking for essays or short stories here, just ideas. Be silly. I like silly.
Also, I have to thank someone. See, that's the neat thing about knowing someone with a big column like this. You do something cool for him, and he puts your name where thousands of people will read it. But since he's not the type to take high praise and run with it, in fact, he's the type to not let anyone know about it, I'm just gonna say thanks Kev. You know why.
Okay, back to business. What's new? Not a whole lot on the outside, just the same old theme thing. Well, kinda. You see, my original intention for the Theme section was not to have people write direct rebuttals against the author's points and argue directly against him/her, but instead to have their editorial bring up a 'general topic' that other people would discuss in their editorials editorial. Please, also, when submitting an editorial for the "Theme" section, please mention that in the subject without doing so much a rebuttal. Instead of directly launching an attack on Ms. Snope, discussing how RPGs and relgions relate, or something. Of course, this is all thrown out the window if I LIKE the editorial, but if you write a good editorial, then my rules are kinda thrown out the window anyways, so, whatever.
I've had a lot of people ask, "What the heck is up with your titles? They never make any sense!" Oh, but they do! Of course, I don't wholly expect you guys to be able to follow my logic in making the titles, but if anyone can catch the references and somehow relate it to something, send it to me in email, and I just might post it up on this column. I just want to see what you people can come up with as reasons for each title. There actually are reasons behind each and every one, I assure you, and one of these times I actually might start keeping track of them, putting little text files on what they all mean, and then you guys can see how really messed up I really am. Um, or something.
Anyways, on the Britney Spears vs. Natalie Portman issue, it looks like the winner is Natalie Portman, by a lot. It seemed most people were pretty vehement about their opinions one way or the other, but Portman took the cake, I'd say 4 out of 5 times. One person voted for Katie Holmes. I've got one response here that's just.. well, take a look at it yourself. "Oh mai" is my personal response. (btw, for those of you going, "huh?" Terra wasn't in FF4, and honestly, I don't see the resemblance...) Also, I received this comment which made me laugh so hard I nearly fell out of my chair. Anyways.. I think I've spent enough time rambling on, here's the show!
