So What's the Deal With Sakura? Mike Moehnke

Editorial Excerpt:

"Come November 10th, and the first Sakura Wars game ever to receive an English release will be available for consumption. Some people who read this are veterans of the series and need no further information. Far more people will have been intimidated by the language barrier (which, in the case of Sakura Wars, is large) and might wonder what the big deal behind these games is."

Facing the Hard Truth Sam Marchello

Editorial Excerpt:

"Have you ever read a novel, watched a movie, or played a game and saw a scene or an event that perhaps hit too close to home?"

On Interaction: My First RPG Glenn Wilson

Editorial Excerpt:

"When I was home for Christmas last year, my mother pulled out a dozen cardboard boxes containing relics from my childhood. She packed them years ago while I was away at college — an annoying habit she had at the time — and now I was tasked with digging through their mysterious contents and deciding if they were all worth keeping."

From the Editor's Desk

Once again, we have a title this week that comes from the silliness of Run to the Sun. That Emanuel Merino, he has a wicked sense of humor - especially in times of complete and utter tiredness.

I've been playing so many games lately, but the one I've been making the most progress in has to Persona 4. I'm really starting to enjoy this game, love the characters and I'm probably more than halfway through now. I've also been playing Jeanne d'Arc, and I finally hit Chapter Four. My boyfriend also got me to try out The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition which I only played roughly an hour of and the writing is pretty cute. Hopefully, I'll make more progress in that so I can actually have something to talk about. Sadly, I've never played a Monkey Island game in my life.

There are three editorials this week, all from staff members. Glenn writes about interaction, while Mike gives readers the scoop on what to expect when they finally get their hands on Sakura Wars ~So Long, My Love~, and finally to top the column off with a cherry, I reflect on when video games "hit too close to home". Mmmm... editorial sundae.

Hopefully these pieces are engaging reads. If not, then I don't know how to please you people!
