Remaking Final Fantasy Stew Shearer

Editorial Excerpt: "With Final Fantasy IV DS coming out today and looking like a truly worthwhile remake, it's bringing to mind how much I genuinely don't want Square Enix to do this to their other games, or more specifically Final Fantasy VI."

Be Careful What You Wish For Michael Cunningham

Editorial Excerpt: ""I really wish that we would get games in the US the same time that they do in Japan." I've made that statement and I'm sure that many of you have as well. While it may not be an everyday occurrence yet, it is at least happening. Square Enix is bringing tri-Ace's Infinite Undiscovery to North America before it even launches in Japan. The question is: Do we really want this after all?"

From the Editor's Desk

After giving E3 some room to breathe last week, we're back! My console backlog is all but eradicated, albeit through some less than ideal means. After polishing off Shadow of the Colossus finally, I turned my attention to Final Fantasy IX. Everything was going well until the third disk when I reached a point where the screen went blank and stayed that way. Repeated tries yielded the same results and resurfacing the disk did nothing. Can anyone say, "Faulty product?" For the time being I'm done with FF IX, which leaves me with just Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and Silent Hill 2 to finish up. I'm taking my time with those though, playing through my handheld backlog some.

The big news of the day of course is the release of Final Fantasy IV DS. I made a point of picking up my copy first thing this morning and I look forward to later in the day when I can devote some more time to it. Beyond that not much news. I forgot to mention; my fiancée and I splurged a bit and bought a new TV. Its a 40" Sony Bravia. Flat screen. High Definition. It easily the nicest and most expensive TV I've ever owned and I must say it makes older games look kinda bad. You don't know the meaning of pixelation until you've tried playing a PS1 era game on a TV like this. I love the thing, and it makes my PS3 games look awesome, but I thought I'd mention that. Cheers everyone and please write in as it looks like another editorial dry spell is upon us.
