Why is Luca Blight the Greatest Villain in my RPG Collection?
by Jorge Desormeaux
BEFORE WE DEFINE what a villain is, we should study what a character is- and what makes him effective. I hold that the three most important qualities for a character are: motivation, power, and style. This is because, for a character to be memorable, he has to touch something inside the player of the game: he has to stir or create something inside the player. Be it admiration, respect, hatred, dislike, disgust- a good character is one that transcends the game, novel, play or movie itself and becomes a believable character.

Level the Field
by Gabriel Putnam
"The topic upon which so many aspects of the RPG world lie is difficulty. Its very name belies the troubles it spawns: message boards full to the brim of angry fans, ranting over the ease or impossibility of the newest gift to their favorite series; treacherous tasks and hidden items beyond the grasp of even the most powerful individuals or cunning players; and worldwide nerfs of über gear, in an effort to stem the rapid shift of a virtual economy. As can be seen, difficulty is a slippery concept, one which can overwhelm even the best efforts to control its pace through errors of code or human judgment."
Don't Cry for Gaming Companies: They Brought the Piracy on Themselves
by Josh Frappier
"While there are many who oppose game piracy under any and all circumstances, I honestly believe that piracy is sometimes a warranted reaction to unfair treatment of customers from console developers and game publishers. As such, I will not in good conscious support the war against piracy until the following becomes true."
