Editorials for June 26, 2000 - Moo Dame

Updated by Joshua Maciel

Thank you everyone, for making me feel loved, and giving me a laugh or two. One thing I just want to make clear: when I reject an editorial, it's not personal. I try to give proper reasoning. The longer the editorial submitted, the longer the response you get. So if you write me a 2 page editorial, I'll write you a lengthy reply about it most probably. One paragraph editorials get returned with "Too short, doesn't say enough" pretty much. It's not a personal thing, it's a time thing. I spend lots of time doing this for you guys, and take it as seriously as you do.

Onto the touching funny stuff that I got. Speaking of short editorials getting short replies, one guy e-mailed me back with the reply "I don't like you. (see? Things can be short and meaningful)!" Not that this person was particularly nice. But I got a good laugh out of it at least. Note to my detractors: witty flames are the ones I pay the most heed to, and respect you the most for. I had one guy who actually ran out to get Vagrant Story at 4am because of my review. He said that I would suffer if he found out that I was secretly getting funded by Square's Secret Slush Fund (SSSF).

I'd like to thank Scarmiglion for this newish look. He's the man. I'd also like to thank Doug "Stom Dough-Boy" Hill and Brian Watcher for helping me refine the new look. So, well, I'll leave them. There will be a debate Wednesday night at 9pm. It will be on irc.rpgamer.com 5555 (esper.net) in #editorials. Be sure to read the irc FAQ, and the debate FAQ.

Be sure to note the new debate information to the right if you have any interest in joining up. It's going to stay there with logs of completed debates. I also put up another last word or two for your perusal. I also changed the rebuttal icon to Psyduck. It makes sense to me, and livens the place up with some yellow-ducky-goodness.

Naturally, I'd like to open up my e-mail client for comments, concerns, feedback, etc. about the new look, general questions, or whether the peach, chartreuse, or magenta nail polish works best for you (the answer's none of the above).

We've got some smart cookies out there. You guys are the best. So I'm trying to make you guys have something special to look forward to. So, that means a contest (yay!). I've already gotten a pseudo-go-ahead for the contest, and just have to hammer out the details. The way I *think* it's going to work is that I will look for editorial submissions on a certain topic, and the best one will get posted on index for thousands to read. Exposure is never a bad thing. Who knows what other sultry tidbits I can get tossed into the pot o' prize. Maybe I'll try to convince the boss to donate a copy of Vagrant Story, seeing as how it's just simply the best game for the Playstation. Who knows?

So with all that said and done, and having worked on HTML and at my job all day, I think I'll present the editorials.
