To the Developers Kash Afshar

Editorial Excerpt:"I have had a lot of time for playing games these past few days, and I’ve noticed a few tweaks that game developers can make in order to make their products just a little more agreeable."

The Best is Yet to Come Sarah Williams

Editorial Excerpt: "Downloadable content for video games is something of a double edged sword in my view. On the one hand, you're getting items, weapons, dungeons, and/or quests that can add new depth to a game's playthrough and/or give you more details inside the game's world to enjoy. On the other hand, it's an easy way for a game developers to milk more and more money from gamers for miniscule additions to the game that have no impact on gameplay or the story (like outfits or hairdos), some of which ought to have been offered for free."

From the Editor's Desk

I'm writing this over breakfast. The Quaker guy has been eyeing me and I'm considering getting up to turn the box around. On the gaming front of my life, I have again been adding to my backlog. Having beaten MGS4 twice, I have gone back to FE: Radiant Dawn for an intermission before I return for a third course of Solid Snake. That said, enticed by the ten dollar price tag and the largely positive reviews, I picked up Metal Gear Ac!d from my local EB. Its a good game and actually plays much like an SRPG. Tactical Espionage Role-Playing they should call it. Worsening matters, Brave Story, a title I've been considering for awhile, is on sale for 19.99, and I have ten percent off coupon. STUPID GAME DAYS SAlE!

In the eds corner of the ring, we have one from Mr. Kash Afshar suggesting some seemingly common sense improvements those hapless developers could make to the games we all know and love. Sarah Williams also returns with a discussion on the pros and cons of downloadable content. Enjoy and follow there example! Yes, Sarah is staff, but she wrote and trust me, nothing helps those game induced frustration like writing about said game induced frustrations. Vent to me folks! Vent hard!
