FEATURED READER EDITORIAL
A Virtual Life
by Theresa
ON A SPRING DAY a radiant sun shines brightly, its rays reflecting off the calming effects of the ocean. A stray wind blows carrying tossing about little grains of sand. I feel happy, all inhibitions melted away in those waves and in the warmth of the golden light...but then the feeling disappears. I feel a nudge from behind and the sand dissolves and that beautiful ocean fades away. The moment is placed back into the monitor and I am fitted neatly back into the mold of reality.

Rinoa is Not Ultimecia
by D. C. Brotherton
"After finishing Final Fantasy VIII, I discovered a widely spread "theory" which suggested that Rinoa was in fact Ultimecia...and have made a point by point rebuttal to the evidences provided as support for this theory."
It's a Man's World
by ZealPropht
"I have to disagree with the notion that a strong female character can't be the lead in a Final Fantasy title. Hobbes Lionheart stated that you almost never see a female wielding a sword. This is true, but why is that? Why must almost every girl be the magic user/healer/scrawny thief?"

Rebuttal to: "Riddle of the Promised Land"
by Kenzie Pommier
"In Peter Marcroft's original article, he expressed his thoughts of where the Promised Land of Final Fantasy VII might lie, such as the North Crater, the Temple of the Ancients, and even Midgar itself...Maybe the Promised Land isn't one place or many to gather, but many places where one stays."

Game Pirates, and the Lost Continent
by IceEgg
"One big thing both Stu and Hindman forgot was the lost continent of gaming piracy: the PC world. Yes, damn me for even mentioning that forbidden realm of high resolutions and amazing frame rates, but I will anyhow."

Stop Whining, Listen to the Facts
The World Map: The Last Piece to the FF Puzzle
by Bobby Skelton
"What was missing from the tenth addition in the FF series? If you haven't already figured it out by looking at the bold letters at the top of the article, I'll restate it for you, The World Map."

Editor's Comments
This week we have a variety of editorials, each addressing a different topic. This is what I like to see: a healthy number of good submissions covering a range of topics. I handed out my very first featured reader award to Theresa for her eloquent editorial, "A Virtual Life." The issues of the past, piracy and female leads, are still hanging about this section, and most likely they will still be spilling over into the boards as well.
On a personal note, I'd like to add that today is the anniversary of my marriage to my husband. We've been married for two years, and I hope that we are together for many more.
